When Hermione Granger returns for her 7th year at Hogwarts, she hopes for a somewhat uneventful year and wants nothing more than to focus on her studies and her role as Head Girl. When Draco Malfoy returns, it's for the Ministry and not himself, and he wants nothing to do with Hermione, and she wants nothing to do with him. But there is a murderer in the castle and lives are at stake as multiple Harry Potter supporters are found dead within the Forbidden Forest. As the two Heads try to discover the killer, pass their classes, and study for their Newts while also fulfilling their duties, one can only expect a friendship and understanding to be forged.
Can Hermione and Draco put all differences aside and find the killer, or will they kill each other first?

Ron and Harry, getting ready to finish their Seventh Year and become Aurors, like they planned. After Hermione turns down Ron, for feeling wrong about being with him, she feels alone. Scared. Out of sorts. But she isn't the only one. Draco Malfoy sits at the other end of the Great Hall, by himself, surrounded by the other Slytherins, all avoiding him except for Theo Nott, Blaise Zabini, and Pansy Parkinson. The other death eaters. But Malfoy doesn't seem to notice, too busy staring into nothingness, with grief. Hermione cannot help but stare at the poor boy who everyone hates. Who she hates.
