Asami Okuma was one of two children born quirkless in the small hometown of Musutafu, Japan. Whilst her counterpart spends his days being tormented relentlessly by their childhood bully, Asami spends her time with her head down. Careful to avoid the trouble she knows ensues with the two boys. 

As Asami matures into her middle school years, she's eventually faced with the fact she must choose a path in life that doesn't involve a quirk.
