On October 28th, 2247 the world council passes the law of sorting.
Every male and female over the age of twenty-three is to be injected by the sorting serum, ranking them with scores to decide their future value to society. The higher the score, the higher the possibility of finding an equally high-scoring partner.
Piper has turned twenty-three and it's her time to receive her score. With low-score parents she doesn't have any hope of scoring high, nor participating well in the arena, where she will meet her future partner.
After tests and rankings she is send into the arena, fighting for herself and her future. Only didn't she know that the arena wouldn't be her last nor hardest fight.
Especially with non other than Merek Havish at her side; a mainlander that has the highest-score ever recorded for a reason.
