Christmas time, after all, seems to be a romantic holiday for some. Blue couldn't be the more opposite of Spiro. He comes from very little money, doing whatever little jobs he can find just to survive. Though with no fixed address and only sketchy jobs on his resume, it's hard to get better paying jobs. Paths crossed between these two and soon enough, they realize they might be the solution to each other's problems. Blue will fake being Spiro's boyfriend, and Spiro will give Blue any recommendation he needs.

With the cheery atmosphere in Fairview, who wouldn't join in on the holiday festivities? Oliver Hastings. He hates Christmas. Loathes it. He hates how bright the lights are and how everything in town seems so whimsical and enchanted. It all makes him want to puke. He claims that celebrating the holidays are useless and a waste of his time. So what happens when Elle's boss hires Oliver to work at Gingersnaps? A nuclear explosion of candy canes and sugar plums, that's what. She knows that no one's supposed to be unhappy on Christmas. Not even the grumpy Christmas hater named Oliver. With the help of her best friend Carol, she writes a list of things to try and get Oliver in the spirit. But then her plane has to stop in a little town in the middle of nowhere during the biggest snowstorm of the decade. And so the adventures she had been hoping for and the love she hadn't really expected to find are thrust upon her, in the form of trying to find a place to stay in a town flooded with angry tourists, a crazy set of weird characters that offer their help, and an overly sarcastic yet amiable boy that doesn’t seem like anyone Elle has ever met before.
