[Based on a true story] Kaylee has no clue what happened. One second, she is sitting in middle school with her nose stuck in a book, and the next she's in the band room with a trombone between her legs. For years, it had always been her dream to join the band. After moving to a new town and learning about a marching band, she struggles through her eighth grade year trying to settle on the instrument that is right for her. After four failed attempts with no luck, her teacher throws the trombone at her, and before she knows it, she's out on the high school football field playing in front of a big crowd of people. After over a year of jumping instruments, Kaylee fears that she will never be able to play anything. What if she messed up? Danny is a musician at heart. Everyone in her family plays an instrument. Her Freshman year is coming up and she has to decide what to play and what to be in. Around April a sign-up sheet for Marching Band shows up on her doorstep. Signing up, she doesn't realize what she has gotten herself into. Jackson comes from a line of trumpets and other horn players. He was expected to join Marching Band as did his older brother Chase. He signed up and prepared for the first day of practice.
