Rose lost her childhood sweetheart and their son in a tragic accident at an early age. While coming to terms with the heartbreaking losses she travelled all around Oz in her reliable Landrover.

Now a competent, self-sufficient woman, she purchases a property outside a small rural Australian town. After a stormy first night on her new land, Rose rescues a Dingo X Heeler pup that soon fills an open place in her heart, becoming her best mate.

In the small, friendly country town she meets some interesting characters, including the charming local vet Mitch and vivacious general store clerk Del. An eccentric old bird, Sheila, who owns a quaint BnB nextdoor, her arrogant son-in-law Maxwell and his inquisitive daughter Penny all quickly become entwined in her once simple, easy life.
