Betty fled from the horrors of her childhood, only to face more challenges and appalling choices living on the streets. She waits to turn 18, to be a legal adult, free to make her own decisions, to be in control of her future. 

Just survive... a little bit longer.

On a cold winter's night, beaten in both spirit and body. Betty collapses into some bushes ready to give up. Robin finds, what she first thinks, is a stray in her garden. She takes Betty under her wing, teaching her survival skills and providing the occasional respite.

Robin's honest and caring nature helps Betty to begin trusting people again. But up until a chance meeting with Jonno, she didn't know what she was really missing out on in life.

This girl was also older than him by 11 months. Basically a year. Soon.. the two meet under dire circumstances, her father is dying, and bruce has to help her adapt and overcome. Both of them training in the process under Ras Al' Ghul. Back to Gotham. As friends, maybe more.
