Camelot has entered a new age. [SPOILER INCOMING] After the death of King Arthur, magic now reigns freely under Queen Guinevere's rule [END SPOILER]. Merlin has left Camelot and lives as a hermit in his home village of Ealdor, a self-proclaimed exile, under the shame of having failed to live up to his destiny. Though these liberating times look bright for the citizens of Camelot, many people have not taken well to the new ordinance--a new order of people against magic have sprout up: the Utherans. As more strangers pour through Camelot, more traitors lurk in every shadow, and a whole myriad of political scruples causes Camelot to start crumbling from within. With Merlin far away from the city dear to his heart, will he be there in time to save Camelot not only from internal and external enemies, but to stop the demise of the kingdom: the demise of his legacy, and all that he was meant to be?

I got the inspiration for this story from a similar oneshot on Fanfiction.net by Aeon The Dimensional Girl if the user wishes for me to take this one down I will, however I will point out that I expanded on the concept and definitely made it my own.
