Runaway

Aria and Maax are regular high school students.

Aria is well known, but she doesn't like talking. So, she doesn't have many friends. But she's fine with that, that's how she wants to live.

Maax is admired. She's herself without fear of being judged. Many, many guys like her, and multiple girls look up to her.

Though, they both share the same deep secret.

When they meet, their lives change completely.

"Maax," I said.

"Yes?"

We were in each other's arms, holding each other tightly.

"Let's run away,"

She jumps, "Why do you want to run away?"

"Don't you see it, Maax? My guardian is abusive, and your parents extremely homophobic. This whole town is homophobic. We'll never be happy here," I said, my voice cracking.

She sat there, silent.

"I love you, Maax. I want to live a happy life with you," I was now sobbing on her chest.

Her breathing becomes sharp. "I love you too, Aria."

She was now, also crying. "Let's do it Aria,"

I look up at her, she looks down at me.

"Let's run away together."
