A Christmas Letter

One snowy December morning, Nicola Meyer awakens to find a weathered ivory envelope on her doorstep. She could tell from the cursive script which was addressed to a Miss Elizabeth Claire and the vintage stamp that this letter wasn't from her time. Upon further inspection she could make out that the Monarch on the stamp was King George IV...meaning this letter was at least 50 years old. She was in awe at how this letter turned up that day, but she made a promise that day to find this woman. She couldn't explain this feeling but she just knew, deep down that this letter was important and Elizabeth deserved to know.

Falling for Santa's Son
Usually, people Carol's age are getting married, buying their first house, getting their first pet, etc. Her younger sister's doing all that. Good for her right? And she's doing it with Carol's ex. It has been a year since they broke up and he has been with her sister ever since and well, I'm sure you can guess the tea for that one. But it's Christmas time so 'tis the season to be jolly. Weird but she agrees to do exactly that. Nick keeps claiming that he's Santa Claus's Son and that there's this whole Christmas wonderland where people compete to be Santa...she just goes with it. The letters had strangely stopped from my long-time American pen pal, until I got another letter to explain the sad reason why. Devastated to learn that Sara had tragically died, I could only mourn her untimely death and her faraway loss. Now, the long-distance letters have slowly began to arrive back through my door, just as they used to before. They are now coming from the brother of Sara...the one who first wrote to me about the truly sad passing of his sister. One word at a time, this man is beginning to intrigue me. One word at a time, he is making me want to read more from him. But Cary Dean lives in New England, and I live by the sea in Dorset. I can't let him intrigue me. I can't want to read more of his words. Moira ~ A person's destiny ************************************ I was holding the photo tightly in my grasp when I felt a presence behind me. Ace came closer to me and reached around me causing his chest to press into my back. Before I could control myself, a breathless gasp escaped me from feeling the sparks from the places we were touching. Ace didn't say anything, instead, he took the photo from my hand and backed away. I turned around to see Ace walking back to the couch he was just sitting on. I leaned back against the bookshelf as Ace sat down. Looking at Ace, I needed to know. I needed to know why he had a photo of me from before. Why would he have one when he was the one who rejected me? He hated me and yet he kept a photo of me for years. I felt a feeling of loss like I had never felt before. I was confused and hurt. Why did he have that photo? I had so many questions for him. I whispered, not wanting to break the silence but needing an answer, "Why?" One word, three letters, a beginning of a question. Not enough meaning behind it but he knew what I meant. Even if I didn't know what I wanted it to mean. Because in my head, a thousand questions I needed him to answer. Why did he reject me? Why take a picture of me? Why keep that picture of me for years? Why did he choose Brittney? Why didn't he love me? Why was I not good enough? But instead of asking all these questions, I chose to ask one word with only three letters. Because that one word held all my questions in it. It held the pain that I felt. It held the rejection, the hope, and the anger. She's known who Theo is longer than he would think possible, and she is taking a great risk contacting him via handwritten notes in order to convince him he deserves more than the fate his father has designed for him. She has one month to exchange daily messages with him, to answer his questions and open his eyes to the realities of a world he has never been allowed to see. A revolution is coming to the Land at the end of the month, and if Merryn's notes fail to get their point across, Theo may never live to see the sunrise on June first. Naomi has always dreaded the holiday season but when she finds herself staying with the handsome stranger and his family that accidentally stole her Christmas tree through the holidays, she just might end up taking a large sip from that cup of holiday cheer that brightens up everyone's Decembers. --------- "You've never kissed anyone under the mistletoe then?" he asks, keeping his voice low. Genesis... ...well Genesis is a spy. She has always been a spy. In occupied France, 1944, the Nazis are so close to finding her. She's so close to being burned, but she manages. She manages to just keep their suspicions off of her. But she needn't for long, as the date of her extraction is drawing near. And as she waits, she wonders "who will I have to be next?" This is the story of Genesis, from her very beginning to her very end. _ "And when the shouting started she would not hesitate, for she was a soldier now and to hesitate meant to die." - There is an eventual canon character x OC, but I shan't tell you who because I'm mean. Just some stuff I need to point out, which I will re-iterate in the first part (the welcome and disclaimer) incase you haven't read this far: There is a lot of SWEARING- like a lot, my OC is a potty mouth. Smoking and alcohol feature fairly heavily - SMOKING is not good for your health, but if you do/are going to smoke, please do so responsibly and safely - ALCOHOL is fine as long as it is consumed responsibly, please don't binge drink as it will seriously damage your body. This story contains GRAPHIC VIOLENCE and MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH because, as you know, Band of Brothers is during WORLD WAR 2 and so there was an awful lot of that. Not all the stories are holiday themed You might notice that there are no names mentioned anywhere in the book. This is simply because I suck at thinking of names for book characters.
