One snowy December morning, Nicola Meyer awakens to find a weathered ivory envelope on her doorstep. She could tell from the cursive script which was addressed to a Miss Elizabeth Claire and the vintage stamp that this letter wasn't from her time. Upon further inspection she could make out that the Monarch on the stamp was King George IV...meaning this letter was at least 50 years old. She was in awe at how this letter turned up that day, but she made a promise that day to find this woman. She couldn't explain this feeling but she just knew, deep down that this letter was important and Elizabeth deserved to know.
This is a short story that I'm submitting for @TheCVCommunity Bethlehem: The Shining Award Show. I chose prompt 1: After 50 years, A Christmas card finally reaches its destination one frosty December day

Smoking and alcohol feature fairly heavily - SMOKING is not good for your health, but if you do/are going to smoke, please do so responsibly and safely - ALCOHOL is fine as long as it is consumed responsibly, please don't binge drink as it will seriously damage your body. This story contains GRAPHIC VIOLENCE and MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH because, as you know, Band of Brothers is during WORLD WAR 2 and so there was an awful lot of that. Hunted, she thought. She was being hunted. She cried as she tripped once more, her foot catching on a log, and in that one falter, the soldier was upon her. Instantly he roughly pinned her down with a knee to her back and held a strong hand to the back of her neck. Ofelia, immediately burst into tears, thick sobs escaping to the forest. "Pa!", She yelled, weeping into the snow, "...Pa." The soldier sighed and waited. "Sir!", The same voice from before bellowed, "We must get moving!" Ofelia continued to yell out, screaming into the earth, but he only waited. He was cold. Angry. The Frost upon his knee digging into her back. Ofelia could feel his impatience, his irritation at her outburst. She laid there sobbing until she could sob no more. Until the heartbreak seeped into horror. Until she lay there staring at the roots instead. Only then, after a slow and resounding silence, did the soldier lift his knee off her, dragging her up by her arm. Ofelia followed.Complete

Naomi has always dreaded the holiday season but when she finds herself staying with the handsome stranger and his family that accidentally stole her Christmas tree through the holidays, she just might end up taking a large sip from that cup of holiday cheer that brightens up everyone's Decembers. --------- "You've never kissed anyone under the mistletoe then?" he asks, keeping his voice low. There are literal sparks flying in the air between us right now- I knew I was attracted to him at the tree farm but now that I've gotten to actually know him a bit better, and now that he's standing so close to me, that attraction has seemed to intensify. Unexpectedly, Santa (North) knocks on your door and offers to help you get your Christmas wonder back, as he does with chosen adults every year, by letting you help deliver Christmas this holiday season. You accept the offer. But as you get into Christmas preparation, you discover that delivering Christmas and getting your wonder back is going to be much harder than you thought.
