"You know," he said as his face was illuminated by the blue and red lights, "this is kinda all your fault."
I snapped my head towards him letting out an irritated scoff. "Really," I said in disbelief, "We're sitting in the back of a cop car and your first words are I told you so."
He chuckles lowly, "Well, I was just trying to lighten the mood, sweetheart." He leans his head back against the headrest and purses his lips. "You seem rather tense."
My eyes nearly pop out of my head. "Tense, do I?" I shift around in my seat, the handcuffs making it harder. "Well I don't know dumbass. Maybe it's the fact that we're handcuffed in a cop car, hundreds of miles from home, with the possibility of spending a night or longer in a cold, cramped jail cell!"
"Ahhh, so we get the chance to spend another night together then," he said cheekily.
My jaw hung open, gawking at him, "You're so infuriating." He smirked, clearly getting the reaction out of me he wanted. "I can't believe with the situation we're in you still choose to not take it seriously."
"I'm just not nearly as concerned about it as you are, darling" He says as another devilish grin appears on his face. "Besides, unlike you it isn't my first time in handcuffs."
