Gaius Claudius Nero knows nothing can save the Republic. Not after his humiliating defeat on the banks of the Metaurus River. Not after the Etruscans and Umbrians switched sides. Not after Hannibal besieged Rome. While his city burns, the last Roman Dictator prepares to die with honor... With the army of Pyrrhos of Epirus faltering ahead on the banks of the River Siris, Roman soldier Marcus Atilius Regulus and his unit of legionaries must brave the legendary Greek pikes - or face utter annihilation. Depicting the first time the fledgeling Roman republic met a major Greek royal army in a pitched battle, 'Memories' depicts the ancient battle of Heraclea, taking place between a rising Roman Republic and the ambitious ventures of the warrior-king Pyrrhus of Epirus. Possibly an intro to a longer story.
