Emma O'Brien is dead. 

She has been for five years, when she killed the last piece of herself that tied her to her family, and skipped town faster than a fan fiction writer writes their first smut scene of their favorite ship. Ever since then she has settled down in Seattle, with a fake name, and finds herself finally starting graduate school as Emma Nightshade, an aspiring playwright.

However, it seems that wherever she goes, her past comes to haunt her. Can Emma find out who is she outside of the characters she writes, and find a way to make her life livable again?
