Why does life have to change? Why can't our life stay non-moving and permanent like when we were children? Life's simpler back then. No judgments. No drama.

Carry can remember the old days. Coming home from school, getting a snack, then meeting up with your best friend. You know the one. The one person you tell everything to. Do everything with. It seems like nothing can tear you apart.

Life can...life is always the thing that gets in the way.

Humanity developed this virus that started to pass through the generations through their genes. This virus was dormant and undetectable until you turn thirteen. Once a human turns thirteen you either stay the same height you are now or go through the change. After the change, your body changes and not from puberty. You are either human size or an 80-foot Zove.

At the age of twelve Carry was ripped from her old home, old life, and had to abandon her best friend behind to move. Now she's returning to her old town at the age of 16. Trying to maneuver high school and life is bad enough but now she has Zove's she has to worry about. Great?! At least she has her best friend again. Right?
