The story of how Pendalia came to be the cruel world that it is today, and how the infamous villain, Malik, came to be so evil.

Raised to be a fearsome king by his harsh adoptive father, King Startonias, Malik vows to be a better king than there ever was. He rules fair, he rules well, yet on one expedition through the Passing Forest, he meets a fair, human, maiden and falls in love. Life is good- until his love is murdered in cold blood.
