18 year old Levi Ackerman lost his parents in a car accident. Because of this incident, his 9 year old sister was to be put up for adoption since they had no known relatives left. Not wanting that to happen, Levi takes his younger sister in. Problem was, all he had was a small apartment late on rent, and a part time job as a waiter that barely supported him.
The beach was his comfort place. Specifically, the hidden cliff that little knew about. One day, he was looking down at the water when he saw someone swimming. Except something was off. This person had a tail?

Land or Water?
Sollux was by the ocean, sitting on the dock one day. He doesn't really have the greatest life on land, he was fired from his job, he needed money to pay rent for his apartment, he didn't have many friends, and things just didn't work out for him anymore. As he gets up to leave from the dock, he falls into the ocean, but then he's saved by some mystery person and when he finds out it was a merman who saved him, he becomes great friends with him and finds out that his name is Eridan. But then, Eridan's father disapproves of their friendship and does something horrible. Sollux then finds Eridan with tons of cuts and bruises all over him, on the beach and helps him out. He does all of this while keeping him secret from everyone else except for his best friend, Karkat. After some time, he realizes that he can't stay on land if he wants to keep Eridan safe. Sollux will have to choose whether to stay on land and look for a different way to help him, or to become a merman himself and live in the water for the rest of his life.
