Final Refuge

Mateo Gulverres is a follower to the lesser known Gah'lia, the Ascended Goddess. In a religion that praises experimentation, understanding, and science over demands of blind faith, Mateo's natural curiosity with the macabre and more gruesome aspects of life has led him on a path of medical inquiry and exploration. When rumors of an unknown plague affecting the small town of Dosalda cropped up, Mateo is quick to volunteer himself to head to the town and try and make sense of the inexplicable and deadly illness.

Working alone in a town closed up in quarantine is dismal enough, but when events start occurring that defy reasonable explanation, the practicing doctor soon questions if his slip in sanity is just a side-effect of an on-setting illness, or if there's something far more unimaginable at play in the silent town...
