Thread Bound Souls

"Father," Nalla asked aloud towards the village chief, shifting his focus from the exiting men to the young girl. "What are soulmates?" She questioned, unaware that the question was not a normal subject. As she passed by, she exchanges glances with Felity. She quietly laughs to herself, smugly trying to tease the boy she's passing. "S-Shut up..." Felity whispers back, half jokingly. Something snapped in place, the two elves felt like they knew each other.

They continue on their own routes, as Nalla's father briefly explains. "Soulmates are two people who were fated to meet," he began, trying to explain the deep and somewhat mysterious concept. Behind Nalla, Felity and his father have stopped at the entrance of the hall briefly, and Felity begins listening in. "Do you remember the stories that your mother told you when you were a child? The one about the thread that tied two lovers together?" The chief continues, referring to a well known tale. Felity is called as his father begins to leave. Taking only three steps forward, both him and Nalla stumbled back, as their arms were pulled.

Almost as if they were being pulled by a thread.
