In an alternate universe, Dipper ends up (somewhat) accepting Ford's apprenticeship. Besides the prologue, this is a series of one-shots containing Dipper and Ford (maybe sometimes Stan) bonding. Prolouge addresses some issues I had with "Escape From Reality" and Mabel's character development.

They'll be competing with other students in the Academy to have a chance to change the world they know and love either for the better or the worse. Some changes for this fanfic: -Bill never appeared before and after mabel and Dipper first went to Gravity Falls. He'll appear later on. -Ford never got trapped in the whole portal accident, he was able to get in and out of his world as he pleased. He's still an interdimensional wanted criminal. -Stan is the same as we know him in the show, just never faked his death, and helped Ford with his portal thing. -Mabel and Dipper were the first to go to Gravity Falls and after the experience of the traumatic things it had to offer, they begged their older siblings to go with them for the next summer. Which they agreed to and now they are all traumatized, But they'll be even more traumatized after this fic :D

With the emotions of betrayal and distrust lingering on him how will he handle what's to come. Now that Bill's back he wants his Son no matter what! And Bill has a way of knowing where he is. You go on exciting adventures with Ford Pines, a brilliant scientist, and the two of you fall in love.
