Unbalanced without the other half of the dyad, Rey hopes for a way to reach Ben Solo after his disappearance on Exegol. The discovery of a strange book takes her back to Tatooine and other familiar locations, and soon Ben returns to a world that is working hard to rebuild itself in the wake of the Final Order's destruction.
But Ben Solo has returned with the aim of fulfilling one final destiny -- one that even Rey cannot sense in him -- and when most people see him only for who he was, not who he is, he thinks that destiny will be easy to fulfil. But defenders can come from the most unexpected places... Especially when Ben Solo could be crucial when it comes to Rey's intentions for the new Jedi Order.
The Force demands balance, and he was, after all, the son of a princess and a scoundrel before he was anything else...

A post "The Rise of Skywalker" story. Months have passed since the end of the war against Emperor Palpatine, since Rey lost her dyad in the Force, Ben Solo, and found a new home on the Lars's moisture farm on Tatooine. Ever since she settled in on the desert planet, Rey started training a new order of Jedi, teaching them about the balance of the Force, taking her mind off of what happened on Exegol until after her lessons, because that's when she tries to reach out in the Force to search for him. For Ben Solo. But even after months of trying to reach out to him day after day, Rey still fails, believing he doesn't want to see her. She is frustrated and desperate, and about to give up hope until she finds out about a place existing within the Force, a place existing between time and space: the world between worlds. Could Ben be stuck in the world between worlds? Could he have been alive after all? And can Rey bring him back? All characters and planets are from Lucasfilm/Disney. A sinister voice now whispers, and a flash of blue light reveals a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers filling the vastness of space as blue fire leaps between them. A powerful red laser of an unseen weapon obliterates the surface of a planet. Shrieks, whispers and screams and then the sound of a lightsaber igniting. A fiery red saber but behind that saber is Rey, her hand twitches and the saber becomes a double-pronged staff. A maniacal evil laugh cackles. Kylo woke with a start and sat upright on his bed. Written after the first trailer dropped and finished before the film was released. Contains references to previous films, novelisations and comics.
