Natsu is left alone by his guild as they were put to sleep by Makarov and Gray. As Natsu struggled in the battle against Acnologia. Acnologia saw that Natsu was determined to not give in a battle he knew was futile. So Acnologia gave Natsu a deal. Become his Foster son and become a DemiGod of Dragons or Lose his life. Natsu wanted to become stronger so he can get his revenge on FairyTail for leaving him, he wanted to become stronger so he could defeat his Foster father. He wanted to show the world that he earned the title "Son of the Dragon God"

But one day Acnologia decides to part with Natsu so the boy could go on his own adventures and make friends and mates as Natsu is a special Dragon with unlimited magic at his disposal. Acnologia gave him three gifts a scarf made out of his scales, A Cloak just like his, and Katana made from an iron Dragon claw. It's Sharpness could cut a mountain in half with just a swing.
