Thranduil gripped his throne trying to shut out the sobs of his morning people. Queen Elodiel had just died. All he had left was Legolas. He was breaking inside and couldn't help when no one was around but to cry. He got up quickly and rushed out of the castle into the woods. He stopped after a he was in the forest a good ways. He closed his eye a he started to feel tears come to his eyes. Then he herd a twig snap. He whipped around his sword ready. Then he saw her. A she-elf with blond almost white hair flowing down her shoulders and back, with dark blue eyes. She was beautiful. He put his sword away not taking his blue eyes off of her. "What is your name?" She put on hand on her hip and smiled a bit. "Candís."

Legolas decides to go to the modern world and bring her back but Emily had no memory of her previous life, everything was not easy as Legolas thought it would be. The Elvenking is like a very strong, old tree, deeply rooted in the kingdom he pledged himself to protect. He also pledged himself to protect his heart from love, out of fear that it might weaken him, but that proved to be disastrous. Love... what daunting word rubbed in his face by that fearless redhead elleth during the battle in Dale. Is there any love left in him? Follows what happens with Thranduil and Tauriel after BOTFA, during the War of the Ring and further into the 4th Age. Artemis that's my name. A Long long time ago a young elf prince gave it to me. He was the crowned elf prince of Mirkwood. His name Legolas he was a very kind young elf. I had saved him from drowning when he was only 10, well looked 10 anyway. Since he is an elf they age very slowly just like my kind. After I saved his life that day he wouldd often come see me. Each day just to learn about me and my race. Since we'll, im a mermaid. I'm the last of my kind. He and I grew up together and my feelings for him became one of love over time. I loved him but it was dangerous for me because mermaids can only love once. If my heart breaks it will turn to stone and stop beating, it will grow old and cold and it will stop and never start again. My body will live but it would be a shell of a mer. One day Legolas had come to see me by the river, he told me about a young she-elf named Tauriel. He told me about how he had feelings for her and how amazing she was. My heart hurt at those words. He had fallen for another. That day I told him I loved him and that I would never forget him. Then I grabbed his face with my hands and kissed him. When I kissed him a tear slid down my cheek, when it hit the ground it turned into a white pearl. I kissed him because I loved him but when I kissed him I took away every memory of him and myself. I let go and put my necklace around his neck. It was a green stone with markings on it. We called it our hearts we would give it to the ones we love.
