Your name is Peyton, you are a Human Space Marine in the One Nation Space Command, ONSC. Humanity has been shunned from the One Nation Galactic Council following the creation of a super race known as the Reptilian. The Reptilians, as the title suggests, have begun to rebel against all the other species that seek to control them. They have destroyed countless civilian vessels that have traveled through the Dark Zone, an area overtaken by the Reptilian Navy. You are stationed on the ONSC Slingshot, a battle ship that has been disguised as a civilian cargo ship.
