Tom Marvolo Riddle is studying his last year in Hogwarts with the title of a head boy on his shoulders and so does Marlene Josephine Rosier who wears the badge of the head girl proudly on her robes. Ever since the first year in Hogwarts, Tom was used to people not doubting his intentions and authority, willingly joining his side as if it wasn't obvious that the seemingly model student was only using their naive personality, but the last thing he could expect from Marlene is to blindly follow the scared crowd of her schoolmates, without doubts about Tom's superiority. For the first time, Tom is met with protests from his peer and he can't wrap his head around it.
