She'd die for love. He didn't believe in love. *** From reading The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood, to watching 10 Things I Hate About You, to listening to You are in Love by Taylor Swift, Emily Kingsley's life is a sum of moments she has spent after romance. Watching, reading, listening or daydreaming, romance has never failed to comfort this high school junior of 17 years of age. She has her own issues: self-sabotage, lack of focus in studying, randomly popping up acne and not loving the way she looked. But she could forget all that as long as she is reading about two people falling in love and finding their happily ever after. Emily wants a romance for herself too, and she knows just the person for it. Landon McArther, a senior in her school. According to Emily, Landon is handsome, sophisticated, well-spoken and unlike any of the immature boys of her class who didn't get her at all. Landon was everything Emily has always dreamed about and moreover he appreciates her for the person she is. But there's just a teeny-tiny problem. Landon McArther has a girlfriend. While that wasn't in Emily's bingo card, she hopes, prays, and longs for the day Landon will be single (because he is Emily's soulmate, and he has to be) and awaits her chance for romance. At the same time, her seatmate in chemistry, the rumored delinquent, grumpy asshole Nathan Callahan, makes fun of her romantic dreams. Can Emily ever find true love? Completed. Excerpt-- Take a breath, Lana. Everything will be okay. My stomach churned when I noticed his perfectly combed chestnut hair walking through the corridor by himself, just like any other day. I basically jumped out of the bush, nearly tripping in the process. With no time to fix my hair, I rushed in front of him causing him to stop. "Who are you?" He asked, staring deeply into my eyes, practically making me melt. "I'm Lana Hart, we're in the same grade," acting like a robot reciting the speech I had a plan in my head. "Could you please accept this letter?" I bowed my head down like an idiot, may I add waiting for him to take the letter. Soft panic aroused in my chest. Please let this one good thing happen to me. ---- Charming, quiet, intimidating, interesting, smart; Declan Novak was the perfect student at Yvon High School. It was as if he had the 'golden touch'. Literally. Every ground he walked on was like rolling out the red carpet for him. He had his whole life planned out; graduate as valedictorian, attend a prestigious college, and then take over his father's multimillion-dollar company-- All until Lana Hart came into the picture, love letter in hand with admiration in her eyes. Lana, little Miss Sunshine, spent most of high school crushing hard on Declan, the rude yet amazingly attractive Greek God of the school. She rarely spent time on her studies, but now that it's senior year, Lana is frantically running out of time to improve her grades for nursing school. That, and getting Declan to notice her. Will the optimistic Lana be able to win over crush's heart? Or will Declan ignore her like he does with every other girl?
