I've been very depressed and heartbroken so, what better than to create a story out of it? "This is my life" details a protagonist going through her teenage years up until the age of 21. Through love, friendship, grief, and heartbreak, you will get to witness what it's like being a young black girl trying to conquer the world. Mila's final six months of high school do not go how she expected they would. First, she decides to audition for the spring musical and finds herself in the leading role. Next, she starts to fall for someone she never expected. Finally, loss and sadness echo throughout the semester and make these last months of Senior Year much more difficult and tragic than she ever could have imagined. This last semester holds more exhilarating highs and devastating lows than Mila could have ever anticipated, and through it all, she begins to find herself. With friends, family and a new relationship Mila makes it to graduation and to the spectacular future that awaits her, knowing that these six months have been the most life-changing and impactful of her life.

Nolan is a young adult who goes through stages of grief from a mental illness called ptsd which causes him to feel conflict of which he endures mostly towards his relationship with Elliot Hamilton. It is up to Elliot to show Nolan just how much he means to the world with little things that constantly consist of the two's everyday lifestyle. Nolan has to learn how to love all while setting aside the traumatic pain he endured by trying to become a better vision of himself for his lover.

Perhaps one of the saddest LGBT (and cleanest, there is no explicit sex) you'll ever read in your life. Set in the Arab world and shows one aspect of the consequences of being a closeted gay man in the Arab world. The main characters are dealt with to appeal to the senses, and if you don't sympathize with Youssef and Ahmed then you're seriously cold hearted.
