(comes after ceaseless) A lot of times life doesn't end up the way people picture it. Ashton had always accepted he wouldn't have kids. He had Gabi, and enough family to keep him happy- until he was told he would be a good dad and couldn't shake the thought. Alyssa had always accepted life as it was. It wasn't a fun or a happy life but she was alive, so she saw that as living- until the accident, which sent her away from everything she knew and loved. And then they both accepted things hadn't worked out with this new change. But it turned out all it took was the right person for them to really understand what living was.

We all try to find things to distract us from reality. Sometimes we don't even realise that those coping mechanism are destroying us. We all need someone's help when those distractions turn into a addiction.

Parents always say they don't have favourites. Well, most of the time anyway. In some situations it was painfully obvious, like in Maya's. As the youngest, there were high expectations. Even higher when your brother is a doctor, and you're well... a high school drop out. She resented him for getting out of there, and living a life with fancy cars, and houses, and holidays. She thought his ego was probably huge, and that he didn't really like her anyway. But in a time of need, her brother was all she had, and it turned out he wasn't as much of a dick as she thought. In fact, it was that much the opposite that it totally freaked her out.

She'd dealt with it before- everyday in fact. The words were thrown around as much as the beer bottles. But no one could know. She told people she was clumsy, that she did kickboxing... anything to hide the truth that only her dad and best friend knew about. Until she landed in hospital, and four people made it their mission to make her as safe as possible.

One person can mean so much to you, but you can loose them just as fast as you got them. You can love someone, but one mistake, takes any light of happiness you had, away. Life isn't fair. And I'm just going to have to live with this hell I've caused.

Life hadn't always been so easy for the Hemmings family. Long before private school, spontaneous shopping trips, and their princess Petunia, they lived a stressful life to say the least. Having not left his wife many years ago, and getting custody of his daughter, Luke was drowning in rent bills, court bills, and dealing with a sick kid who just wanted to cling to her dad every second. Relying on other people was his least favourite thing to do in the world, but the life he wanted seemed so far out of reach that there was little else he could do.
