Five girls, semi-friends on a quest to escape North Korea, steal an attack helicopter and crash it by chance outside BTS's apartment building. Under pressure, they all must learn to cooperate, or they could all be killed. Slowly, unpredictable bonds are built (and a few are destroyed), along with fledgling empires and an awful lot of cats (ask Ember - it's her fault there are cats everywhere!)
Excerpts:
-.-.-
"...It'll be good for PR, and after that whole fiasco at the awards show, fans think that you're uh... Dating each other."
"Wait, what?" Jin breathes. "But I'm like 29! They're like 18!"
"It's legal though," Beverly smiles. "But for real, can I date Jimin?"
"Ew, no." Jimin frowns, "I hate you."
-.-.-
"We're not getting you a gun," Junk stated blankly, "I am in fear of my life everyday because of your pistol."
-.-.-
"Hey uh..." Serena whispers, which is surprising because she usually yells, "Is that...?"
"OH MY HOLY MOTHER-FUCKING GOODNESS IS THAT HIM!?" Beverly squeals.
"Oh shit," Tae stares at him, "I think it is."
The leader of North Korea is sitting two tables down from us, eating a triple cheeseburger. He looks up, noticing that we're watching him. He waves idly, but smiles malignantly. I sorta want his autograph - he's famous, right? I half get up, but Serena wrestles me back into my seat, all the while hissing obscenities.
-.-.-
"Guys, it says we're in Syria."
"Great..." J-Hope mutters, rubbing his head.
"Where's Syria again?" Beverly asks.
"Dunno."
-.-.-
Then Emily shouts from the controls, "Oh my god look guys!"
We all crane our necks to peer out where she's pointing, "Is that... oh my god guys, that's Trump. TARGET ACQUIRED, READY THE NUCLEAR MISSILE!!!"
Life wasn't easy, it wasn't a picnic or an afternoon spent chasing butterflies. Life was the longest and hardest feat that any of them had ever faced. It was cruel and unforgiving, and whenever things seemed to be looking up, it would always knock them back down.
Life had taught them what it means to be in pain, to suffer, to be scared and alone.
But somehow, they found comfort in a most unexpected place and they found a home in each other.
Even when it seemed like they couldn't go on, these eight friends held on to each other, and they made it through together.
It turns out that life isn't so scary...when you have friends by your side.
"Izzy, what happened today?" She couldn't help but notice the pain that laced his soft voice.
Her head shook from side to side, "I can't tell you." She hated how weak she sounded, absolutely hated it.
"Izzy," Yoongi's stern tone made her flinch, "We know something's wrong. Whatever it is, you can tell us." Izzy glanced up at the boys, tears starting to pool in her eyes. "We've had our share of shitty days," the boys nodded solemnly at this, dark looks on their faces. "So trust me when I say that whatever you're going through, we would never judge you for it."
Izzy looked around at all of them, a tear finally rolling down her cheek. They stared back at her with seven pairs of soft eyes.
"Why do you guys care so much? Why do you care at all?" She mumbled quietly, casting her gaze down at the floor.
A pair of hands engulfed her own where they lay in her lap. "Because you're our person." Jimin's beautiful chocolate eyes bored into her own. "And we would do anything to protect you. Even if it's from yourself."
Dedicated to my best friend, thanks for putting up with me. Love youuu :P
