"It's kind of stupid but I write..stories I guess." I perk. "Really? That's cool. Can I hear one?" He cringes, shaking his head. "No. Not one of them is good enough for your pretty ears." I smirk as I look down. "Then.. can you write one for me?" I look up at him and I see his eyes brighten. He scratches the back of his head. "Maybe." I smile as I nod, he smiles back at me. Cheeks pink as his fingers flip through the pages of the raggedy journal anxiously. I look at my watch and widen my eyes seeing that school is almost over. "You gotta go before class ends, don't want to get caught talkin' to me." He gulps. "Please don't take it that way, Delilah." I shrug at him. "None taken, it's not my first time being a negro." He purses his lips. I wave him off, handing him his notes. "Thank you for the notes cole." "Anytime Delilah." He smiles softly as he goes back towards the door. Leaving me to stare at his back, dumbfounded.

Instantly my face becomes straight in dead seriousness as I clear my throat."You shouldn't be seen with me anyways." Arching his beautiful eye brows you could tell he was generally confused, almost like he wasn't aware of the rules. "Why not?" Noah questioned. "Oh, come on don't pretend you don't notice I'm black!" "I'm fully aware that you're black, but that doesn't tell me why I can't be seen with you!" Sighing as I rolled my eyes I explain. "Certain folks around here don't take to kindly when our people mingle!" "Oookkkaaayyy-who cares what certian people around here thinks?" Shaking my head as I rolled my eyes once again, he just didn't get it."Look, I've seen what happens when certain people catches guys like you, talking to girls like me, I don't know you all that well, but no one deserves that type of beating." "I don't like being told who I can and can't be interested in." "Nobody does." In this love story Scarlett a black woman unintentionally goes against the social norms when she falls in love with Noah a white man in a town that is permanently stuck in the 1950's segregation in the south type era, only thing is, its not the 1950's, it 2018.
