Hailey and Noah. Noah and Hailey. It seemed like the best pairing. And, it seemed like the endgame. And admittedly, it just ...seemed right. Or so they thought. Hailey loved Noah. That much she knew. She was willing to love both his past and future, his good and bad. Every flaw and fault. They were best friends after all. And, they've known each other for a long time. If that wasn't enough, they've been cheating (in the broadest definition, not that it matters) on their partners with each other ever since -not that any of them were willing to admit it. What story could ever be more romantic? This story is in a high school setting and will be told in text/chat messages.

"Look Noah. I'm sorry-" "You have nothing to be sorry for." He cuts me off. I let out of a breath. I felt a bit relieved. "So are we back to-" "Look we shouldn't hang out anymore." His words instantly make my stomach drop. "Why? I don't understand," I step closer to him. I had the urge to grab a hold of his arms that were crossed over his chest and unfold them. "I thought we were friends and I thought there was something there." His eyes narrow at me words and he takes a step back from me. "I don't want to be your friend or anything else for that matter. Goodbye Em." With that he leaves, leaving me by myself and heartbroken.
