For decades Cursebrorow and Caprin have been at a silent war but after attacks on Curseborows two main towns the tensions have broken and war has started. Cursebrorow court sent out a order to recrute as many people as possible. One of these people is Saylim Rotterdam, a boy with a tragic past and a particular dislike of the court and the people who imprisoned his father. He finds himself meeting a  familiar...'creature', a tatari. Its past is unknown and there is no other one then Syia.
