"This is all your fault Haper! If you would of just stay put as we told you, none of this would have happened!" Kai exclaims with anger. "Well, what did you accept me to do? Sit there and watch you all die!? You guys are alive thanks to me and I don't even get a thank you for it? These last few weeks have been hell for me and you guys can't even seem to notice that!" I defend myself, the tears threatening to come out of my eyes. "Harper, your sister is gone and she's the most powerful one of us. We don't know if these monsters will keep on coming or who is sending them. We can't defeat them without her, and now we're hopeless, all thanks to you." Anthony tells me with a serious voice not even looking at me. *** One day, Harper Lockwood and her family get into a car crash and hours later find themselves in a blank room, tied into big machines. Only to discover one little detail that changes her life, that made her an outsider to her own family. *** "Being the black sheep of the family isn't easy, in fact, it sucks. I just wish things could go back to the way they used to be." I say. But he immediately grabs my hands and looks straight into my eyes. "Don't say that. In fact, don't even think like that. I know it's been a tough few months for you," he says caressing his thumb against the back of my hand. "But all I know is that I wouldn't have met you if it weren't for all of this mess." He says, making me feel thousands of butterflies in my stomach. ________________________________________ Started: 1/1/2021 DISCLAIMER: This book is made out of pure fiction and my imagination. It was a rush of hatred mixed with sarcasm that killed her. One bullet to her chest and then another and another, until she slouched her way down to the floor, covering the white walkways with red. Her now leaving me in a cold trance at the tiny framed friend of mine on the floor, well that is until I looked up to the barrel of the gun pointing at me now. My heart clenching together underneath my skin, pulse raising as I attempt to make sense out of all this, and the brief illusion of a shadow on the wall behind her, all tease me when I’m trying to think if this is all true. That’s when it happens; his dark hair flowing in his eyes from his lack of going to the hair cutter and his violet eyes deepening the stare between the two of us. Don’t shoot! I’ll do anything! Just don’t kill him. My thoughts scream at me, making my line of concentration grow slimmer with each word. Tears begun to fill the bottom of my eyes, my throat closing to the full extent, my ever so calm hands were trembling at my hips and the requirement of breath vanish from my lungs. His hands run out to calm this girl, speaking softly and letting her know that it will be alright if she simply lets us go. And just as she starts to give in to his pervasive act, the fire alarm sets off, sending her in a protective fury of gunshots. Hitting him dead on. Felt like a bullet to my heart.
