For a thousand years, the outside world meant nothing to the Norse trickster god, Loki, and his devoted wife, Sigyn. The little prison inside the cavern in which Loki was chained was everything. Neither of them seemed to care anymore about what happened outside the cave. But when Thor, god of thunder, appears with a proposition for Loki, they are thrust back into the real world. Loki is tasked with tracking down the thief of Freya's necklace, Brisingamen. No one else knows where the thief could be hiding; Odin cannot even find him from his throne. And since whoever holds Brisingamen holds violent sway over Freya, the Aesir send their old problem-solver - and problem-causer - to find their new enemy. It takes a thief to catch a thief, right? Loki's quest won't be as easy as he believes, for the thief inhabits one of the most powerful and magic-ridden places in the Nine Worlds. As he ventures out into a world that is both familiar and foreign to him, he must follow the thief into the one place he hates above all others. Home. Open Novella Contest 2019 entry, and on the Round 3 Long List. A fantasy finalist in the Writer's Circle Awards 2019. Honorable Mention in Fantasy in the Shadow City Awards. VOTED AMBY'S 2025 GRAND FAVOURITE WINNER! As the newly crowned king of Jotunheim, Loki embarks on a quest to delve into the hidden history of his land, seeking to understand its past. To his dismay, he uncovers a distressing truth: Jotunheim had been exploited by other realms, resulting in the loss of precious treasures during its period without a ruler. Fueled to reclaim what rightfully belongs to him, Loki successfully sets forth on a mission to retrieve each and every lost treasure. However, one realm in particular proves a significant challenge-the formidable realm of Vannaheim, protected by a heavily fortified Great Wall. Loki sees this as his ultimate test, believing that conquering the impregnable wall will earn him a place in history. Yet, a surprising twist awaits him beyond the wall. Behind its mighty defences resides Queen Annalise, a force more powerful than mere bricks and mortar. Their meeting awakens emotions within Loki that he never anticipated-an intense love that compels him to do anything in order to win her heart. Even deceit. But just as he thinks he's gained everything he's ever wished for, an evil foe enters, threatening to take it all away. For those 18+ mature readers only. A dual pov narrative from both main characters-Loki and Annalise. If you enjoy slow burn, immersive stories, with a good plot and the long awaited spice, then stop your search. Here is the story for you!
