In the world of Heral, there were three races. The Humans, the Shadows, and the Evans. Long ago, the Evans or "Shadow slayers" just suddenly disappeared.

Sam is the first half blood to ever live. The daughter of the leader of the Shadows, and the deceased princess of the Humans. She parades around as a human thief boy in the day to steal food, and lives and trains in her Shadow town at night, feeding on human fear.

Liam is a boy with a secret. After going to the palace to train in becoming a knight, he runs into a short blonde haired theif called, Slice. Liam has an extremely valuable sword. One that if in the wrong hands can start a war. Will he be able to keep it safe or will a war be their downfall?
