A very "unique" woman named Daema (day-mah) helps a little girl named Abby find her dad in a world where the dead come back to life. Along the way they meet a small group of survivors and they decide to help each other, all the while Daema try's to keep her secret a secret and her past in the past.

She goes to her mother's friend Marlene who helps her out by taking her to two smugglers, Joel and Tess, who are instructed to take her to a group of Fireflies who can reverse engineer a cure for the infected. Joel is in his late 40's, he was there when the apocalypse started and has suffered ever since, until he meets Ellie and his entire perspective on life changes. He finds that over time he begins to have feelings for Ellie, he wants to protect her and shelter her from this horrible life. Can Ellie and Joel save the world? What will happen on their adventure together? Rated M for language, violence, suggestive content, and death.
