Every kid needs the opportunity to own a pet. Pets are kind things that become your companions. And not only is it good for the child's mental stability, but a pet is also a great way to teach responcibility. No matter what kind of pet the kid wants, there are always certain tasks that need to be done and chores to complete in order to keep the pet healthy and happy.
Doing research about the pet is also a good way to teach your kid how much effort really has to be put into caring for their animal. For example, to be happy, mice need to be bought in pairs. Without a buddy, your mouse could grow depressed.
So if you feel like you're going to be responsible enough, feel free to request your own animal companion. Just be sure to follow the rules.
