Ben Solo (Kylo Ren)'s slaughter of the New Jedi Order still occurs due to Snoke's influence. Under guilt for his actions (which led to the death of many, including, in his assumption, the loss of his daughter), Luke Skywalker still goes into hiding on Ahch-To.
