Lennox Brennan has never believed in fate or love after her parents messy divorce. She's always thought relationships had too much baggage and hookups were easy; no strings attached was good. She decides to attend the last party of the year and meets an mysterious boy, who she tries to hookup with but he later rejects her. Lennox is both surprised and intrigued because this has never really happened before.
Lennox's mom gets married and she decides to move back to her hometown with her dad. Lennox gets re-introduced to a boy named Devon Knudsen, her childhood best friend whom she had forgotten about after all these years. On top of all that, she soon discovers he is the mysterious boy from the party. Lennox tries to think about Devon as just a friend but its impossible since that one summer night.
