Andy was almost an adult now, not once in the past decade had she been entirely sober. This hadn't been a choice of her own; she didn't get many of those anymore after becoming a lasting resident in the Institute. She'd been permanently deprived of direct sunlight ever since her sixth birthday, on December 30th. Meanwhile, her best friend claims to speak with his deceased parents and the Keepers found her newest ally before she did. They've been forcing him to use his powers for their selfish winnings, cruel violations like this could go unseen since the Warden disappeared. Escaping the Keepers is one thing; they're still worlds apart from getting home - considering there's anything to come back to in the first place. [ NOTE ] I am currently rewriting this story! This is part of the first draft, so I am taking a break from updating this book until further notice. "Things are getting harder for you, aren't they Charlie? Learning that your powers don't come from the amulet and that you have me in your head? Your scared. I can feel the fear burning off you. Your powers grow stronger each day and yet you still hide it from your friends. It's funny. You still keep it a secret from them. It's almost like you know they'll fear you if you tell them! Don't try and hide it from me, you can't, even if you wanted too. And now, you have to face another threat on top of that, with a new force trying to hurt your world and everyone in it. Oh whatever will you do? I know. You should just give up! I know you want to. Give up and join the bad guys. I know that I want you too."
