Fifteen year-old Akira is a very...what's the word...depressing girl. She doesn't talk or smile, and hasn't done this ever since she ran away from her home when she was ten years old. She's been this way for a long time.

Naoko on the other hand, is also an orphan, but he will do anything for anything. He gets in trouble a LOT, but doesn't care. He is a VERY happy & playful boy.

When the two bump into each other in a very bad situation, they both have different plans to get out of it. Since they had to do something, Akira takes a risk and goes with Naoko's plan, and so begins the most exciting summer of Akira's life.
