The play has three main protagonists living in New York: Alaric, a schizophrenic; Zane, who struggles with general anxiety disorder; Nadia, an alcoholic. Alaric, Zane, and Nadia all face separate problems at the beginning. Alaric's schizophrenic voices cause him to murder innocent civilians in an attack on a hospital. Zane's daily pressures within his personal life cause him to take out his anger on his girlfriend Nadia. However, Nadia is numb and oblivious as she spends her time drinking away her sadness surrounding her father's death. These three end up in a mental institution where they uncover the institution's peculiarity. As the days went by, the way they were treated seemed too perfect to be true and they noticed that their doctor, Doctor Faiza, was actually experimenting on them. After escaping the hospital, our protagonists have Dr. Faiza arrested. Under interrogation, the doctor reveals that she used the experimental medications because she had been blackmailed by a gang. The characters cope with their weaknesses and still find out the truth about Doctor Faiza, which was a result of discovering themselves by focusing on someone else.
