"What if..." Katara's voice was barely above a whisper, and she forcibly swallowed the lump in her throat. Her mother's face floated before her, ash falling from the corners of her eyes. "What if I don't..." Aang's lifeless body flashed in her mind, lightning dancing across his spine. "What if I can't forgive him?"

Forgiveness isn't easy. (And really, who ever said it was?) This fic follows Katara's emotional journey from the events of "The Western Air Temple" to those of "The Southern Raiders," as she experiences firsthand both the challenges and rewards of forgiving others (and perhaps even learns to forgive herself along the way).

~ Childhood best friends to strangers to enemies to lovers ~ Yah Ik. ☯ As Mai's younger sister, Virra often fell victim to the cruel games and tricks of Azula, Mai and Ty Lee growing up. So an alliance with Azula's older brother Zuko seems completely logical. With the years, Zuko and Virra became best friends, they were extremely close and spending all of their time together, right up until the moment Zuko was banished. It is an understatement to say that things ended on 'bad terms' so, when Virra sees Zuko for the first time in five years since he left, things don't go exactly to plan. Virra, a non-bender who is not only good at but enjoys holding grudges tries to find her way after she is left behind by Mai to join Azula's 'elite squad'. She needs to find her place in this story and plans to make good by joining team avatar to redeem herself from the horrible family and nation she comes from. This fanfic has been written with a 2 year age up for all of the characters from the original show. {I can't deal with the fact Aang is 12 and Katara is 14 💀} Btw I am team Zutara for live but since we were ROBBED of their love story I offer you the next best thing :D ☯DISCLAMER☯ I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE ATLA CHARACTERS OR THE MAIN STORYLINE, HOWEVER MY CHARACTER AND HER BACKSTORY ARE COMPLETELY ORIGINAL.
