Josephine is not necessarily shy; however, she doesn't speak much. She only talks when around her friends. She has been friends with Luna, Vivian, Blair, and Cole for as long as she can remember. Luna is the dreamy soul that remains innocent. Vivian is what muggles would call a "pick me". Blair is the creative and indecisive being. Cole is the mature and smart addition to the friend group.
As time passes, Josephine becomes more self conscious as to how her friends truly see her. Therefore, she grows more secretive. She remains close with Luna, but as her other friends catch on to how their friend is drifting from them, they become stubborn.
Josephine slowly discovers something about herself throughout her time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When she becomes certain as to if her discovery is correct or not, she has trouble sharing it.
