The main character, Shirayuri, is turning 16 and must choose a prince to marry.

In the medieval age of castles, kings and queens, the most unforgivable and forbidden is soon to befall a peaceful kingdom in the north.

With her future at hand, the princess has accepted her soon to be fate, until something changes her mind. Shirayuri has unknowingly fallen for the beautiful maid, Kireina, and once she welcomes this love, her life will fit together perfectly.

Or will it? She knows her father's distaste for a certain kind of love - as well as the love to that of a lowly servant - will undoubtedly sever this blossoming relationship, but what can she do about it?

When a sudden change of arrangement sends Shirayuri spiraling into dismay and dubiety, a plan is set in motion.
