There is nothing left. Cities have collapsed, forests have burnt, minds have been warped into insanity. And humanity is to blame. The few struggling survivors are taken in by the facility, an organisation that promises prosperity in this dead world.
But they lied.
Tala escaped the cold clutches of the facility's compounds, and hiding in the cement tatters of towns and skyscrapers with a ragged collection of survivors, she stayed out of their grasp.
Until this day. Until the day she wakes up; cold, clean, and without an idea who she is.
In the compound.
And suddenly, she isn't sure if the ground is real anymore. Nor the sky.
She isn't sure her mind is her own. Until she meets Nox.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

"I want to create a better world where no one hurts each other, to foster a place where love doesn't have to make hate, where no one hurts or kills anybody. A world where I don't have to hurt anybody anymore." The First Dawn has concluded; Children of Blight are running rampant, and the last remaining Bastions of humanity are searching and killing for them for their last chance to find one to restore the earth. The World Capital stands above everyone, with a shadow government smothering the people. The power balance has been tipped for a century now- then came a girl named Armageddon, changing the world forever. The world is at risk of war once more, with the starting gun being fired for the race to control her. Subject to all matters of mutilation, violation, and experimentation, she escapes Blight Laboratories and finds that the world outside is no better than the months she spent in captivity. Until she decides to rob an old man sleeping by a fire with an empty gun, not knowing her life was about to be changed forever. The world prepares for the second dawn as Armageddon's child is born-their saviour. The world looks red, and Armageddon is there in the middle of it all, atop a mountain of corpses upon Mother Earth's flesh. ***COMPLETED***So get this... We've been living in a dystopian nightmare for 10 years now. Grandpa Alfred says it's the older generation's fault--well duh! To make matters worse, Bell, my twin sister, contracted "The Wasting." No doubt she caught it by helping the kids in the Forbidden Zones. That's where all the mutant freaks live. Not just your usual freaks but kids with missing limbs, half a face, twisted spines... My witch of a mother thinks it's from the nuke plants leaking after the purple lights lit up the skies. The preggo's babies turned into monsters. Due to Bell's bleeding heart she only has a month to live. Grandpa says he knows this invisible guy with a cure, (yeah right... what you've been sniffing Grandpa?) He's disappeared and so close to "Recycling" age. Now it's up to me and only me, Izzy Quest, a freaked out teen from Brooklyn, to save my dying twin sister. You may have guessed by now, I'm not the save-the-day-sort--Bell is. She's the sweet, honest, dependable, pretty twin. Don't believe me? Ask my lunatic of a mother. "You look like Bell; try acting like her." If Bell had to save me, she'd be all organized with sticky notes and a compass. Me? What do I have but OCD, a short fuse and a cynical attitude. Oh, but I can run--fast. I can outrun any boy in my school. Well, when there were schools. As of today, all schools are closed indefinitely. Thanks evil, New Regime! (Bell wants me to tell you our story is in 3rd person and not first person--whatever that means...) Find out what the Quest sisters are up to next! Read: "Escape From Fat Camp"
