Kids In The Dark

"Isn't it a little ironic that we're always up at night yet we're afraid of the dark?" he asked, barely audible, not to Cherry but quite frankly to himself.

"Not at all." she replied back after a few moments of utter silence.

Aiden turned his head to look at Cherry.

"Because I'm not afraid anymore. Now that you're here with me." a gentle smile slowly crept into the corners of her lips, eyes glimmering while staring into the boy's irises.

A story where two night owls who view and live the world upside down meets one day at the peak of twilight. Most would think they're insomniacs, or doing reckless things that put them in danger. You know, what kids "these days" usually do. However, the case is they just chose their life responsibilities to be at a time where everyone else would go to sleep.
