400 years ago to the day the end of a biological war killed the last of the human race on Earth. That same day, 1000 teenagers were sent into space and cryogenically frozen, so that one day, they could return to the post-apocalyptic world that used to be Earth, and maybe, just maybe, have the chance to start the human race again on a new Earth. Pollution had enveloped Earth in a seemingly endless cycle of destruction, chaos and failure. The human race was deteriorating, the wind had died down to a light breeze which only brought forth more of the gasoline-scented breaths of yesterday. Death was so often that it at last became quite normal. For everyone... Except one girl. Now the journey to a new world begins. But can they survive the launch? --- Written for the Science Fiction Contests
