Pokémon Red

Follow the story of Red, Green, and Blue as the three trainers attempt to collect all 150 Pokémon of the Kanto region and earn all eight Gym badges of Kanto's Indigo League.

This story is meant to be a novelization of the video games (Red and Blue/Fire Red and Leaf Green), but with some changes in order to make a story better fit for a book. While it is fan fiction, I will try to respect the source material as much as possible, meaning that this isn't going to be a story built around sex and romance (and will not feature this in any meaningful way.)

While it will have hints of darker themes, it is meant to be suitable for children to read as well as adults. This means no cursing or anything too openly mature. The furthest I will go is references to criminal actions (Team Rocket), and touching upon themes of death and war. You're not gonna see Arbok's getting chopped in half or anything like that, but could expect Pokémon eating each other (not in great detail) and other basic aspects of nature that creatures such as Pokémon would exhibit.

Finally, while I will respect source material, I have had to add some things/change some things to better fit the story. Something felt wrong about having 11 year old romp across an entire region without any adult supervision, so Red, Blue, and Green are all teenagers. I will use some fan theories in this work if needed to flesh out the world (as well as add some of my own ideas to better fit an almost 25 year old story to a world that has far surpassed its original scope) but will not rely on fan theories or any of that for the bedrock of my work. It is meant only to add flavor to the story, not drastically alter the story or the tone of the original games in a way I see as disrespectful to the source material.

I do not own any of the characters in this story nor the "Pokémon" franchise, which is owned by Nintendo.
