a champagne problem;
     A term most notably used towards wealthy individuals who complain about "first world problems" as if it were the end of their world. It is a problem, in which when compared to global issues, are seen as small and irrelevant. Nonetheless, it still causes issues for the individual struggling with whatever the problem is.
     This is not the story of a perfect princess, this is the story of a girl with a need for perfection, a fear of disappointing others, and about a hundred too many thoughts hidden behind her pretty face.

Not even when he shouts at her and hits her. Jessie's best friend, Kolleen, can't stand seeing her in that situation. With a bit of convincing - and the worst beating she'd ever received - Jessie agrees to move into an apartment with Kolleen. But not long after, Jessie is scared the worst of her nightmares will soon become a reality. Josh goes missing, and suddenly Jessie would swear she's being followed. One night changes everything, and one person soon changes Jessie's outlook. A responding officer from that fateful night begins to seek her out, at first claiming it's part of his job. As she spends time with her new friend outside of his job, she starts realizing that her feelings are evolving. After being abused for over a year, Jessie is terrified she's falling in love. What's even more terrifying is that he might be, too. She isn't ready for love. Not yet. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him. Falling Short

11 parts Complete Mature

My life began in simplicity. I yearned for what any average girl would dream to become, in a world where expectations flourish, yet still being gullible to realise. Like a princess, or even possibly a narcissistic little girl who wants everything to herself, I disregarded the stories told to me during my bedtimes. That 'Beauty and the Beast' was only a figment of one's imagination. That a palace was even a torture ground to those who have absolute control over it, all its inhabitants, and all that are affected by it. The potential bestowed future had been ruined by innocent decisions of my heart, unknown to the tragedy it would inevitably render. In the end, it was my husband, whose gaze I interpreted as one of affection, who was my one and only betrayer. *** | Top Ranks | [#03 in 'Solution' - 13/06/2025] [#05 in 'Resilience' - 18/04/2023] [#06 in 'Islam' - 18/06/2025] *** Important Note: Those who are easily triggered are advised not to continue with this book.
