In the midst of a bloody war between witches and witch-hunters, all Isla Byrne wants is to survive, and she has a plan to do it. Avoid conscription. Pickpocket to stay afloat. Keep her best friend, Minnie, safe. But all of that is thrown out the window when the unthinkable happens: Minnie enlists.
